Continuous assessment and feedback

Continuous assessment and feedback

As part of the engagement in the working group Education Innovation within the Coimbra Group of universities, a paper with examples of continuous assessment and feedback from several disciplines has been written.

About the project

In recent years, there have been an increased focus on assessment and feedback. A trend triggered by the development of teaching and learning activities that support student-centred and active learning. Final examinations at the end of the course module or academic term have been the order of the day, but new developments are starting to be found in continuous or formative assessment activities throughout the academic term. Much inspiration in this field has come from the English-speaking parts of the world; however, new developments are now spreading across Continental Europe – including Denmark.

As part of the engagement in the working group Education Innovation within the Coimbra Group of universities, Karen M. Lauridsen at the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL, Aarhus BSS) together with Annika Büchert Lindberg and Ole Eggers Bjælde at Science and Technology Learning Lab have written a white paper with examples of continuous assessment and feedback from several disciplines. These example cases are intended as inspiration for educators interested in developing their feedback and assessment practices.
